How do Contacts "Subscribe to Communications"?

What does "Subscribe to Communications" mean in ArtCloud?

To abide by anti-spam laws across the world, ArtCloud has a specific Subscribe to Communications toggle on all individual Contact records. With this toggle on, the Contact is providing either implicit or explicit permission to receive Campaign emails from your account.

Since ArtCloud uses individual email addresses on accounts to send regular email messages out from accounts, this Subscribe to Communications toggle would not apply to regular email message sends. Regular email message sends and Campaigns differ as Campaigns are a specific ArtCloud generated feature.

Where do I control this option?

There is a Subscribe to Communications toggle on each individual Contact record on the Contact Info tab:

How does a Contact become subscribed?

On default, when a Contact is added into your account, this Subscribe to Communications toggle will be on. Whether you're manually adding this Contact in, you've received an inquiry from the Marketplace or your Website, or if the Contact makes a purchase from the Marketplace or Website.

ArtCloud's platform is built with connectivity in mind, and we want you to have the best available data to work with as you work in your account! As Contacts get added into the account, they will be toggled as subscribed.

If you are adding Contacts into your ArtCloud for the first time via the Contact Import Template, please make sure to note the "Subscribed" column. You will want to honor any non-subscribed Contacts from your previous CRM provider.

Why is my Contact unsubscribed to communications?

If you see a Contact with the Subscribe to Communications toggle off, this would imply that they were either manually toggled off by an account user or they have unsubscribed to your Campaign emails.

If a Contact accidentally unsubscribed to your Campaign emails, please contact ArtCloud Support (support@artcloud.com) for assistance with this.

I see an unsubscribed Contact on my Audience list. Would they still receive a Campaign if I use that Audience list?

No. Audience lists are active lists of Contacts that are built by filters. A Contact can still be associated by filter in an Audience list and be unsubscribed to communications. They would not receive any Campaign email sent to that specific Audience list nor would their email address be counted in your monthly Campaign email allotment.
