Image size, dimension, and resolution.

Image size - the file size, typically measured in KB, MB, or GB. Image dimensions and resolution inform the image size.

Image dimensions - the pixel measurements of the file. For example, the image dimension 1920x1080 means the image is 1920 pixels wide and 1080 pixels tall.

Image resolution - the number of pixels per inch (PPI) or dots per inch (DPI), which determines the image file quality. Most images are between 72 and 300 dpi.

Note: Image size depends on how you'll use the images and the size, dimensions, and resolution. This advice may not apply to your image.

What size images should I upload to inventory records?

The file size you upload depends on the dimensions and resolutions of the images you have.

If the image file is large (10-60MB), we recommend an image resolution of 150dpi and dimensions of 1200px on the longest side. If the file is small, be cautious when scaling the size. Doing so can lead to pixelation. Upload the file you have if you do not have access to a larger file.

Are there file size limitations?

ArtCloud currently limits the total file size for an inventory record to 50 MB. You will see an error message if you attempt to upload files larger than this total.

Recommendation for images spanning a website page

When displaying an image in a large format, start with a large image file to avoid any pixelation. In this case, we recommend the image measures 1920px on the longest edge at 150dpi. Wider, landscape images work better than taller, portrait images.

Can I edit my images in ArtCloud?

ArtCloud does not offer any image editing capabilities. You can adjust the height and width of image blocks, but doing so does not affect the image file itself.
